KARACHI, August 21, 2026: Google has announced a one-year free subscription to Gemini AI for students in Pakistan and across the world, and has introduced an easy application process for eligible learners, ARY News reported.
Following the announcement, Pakistani students have been eager to know how to apply for the free Google AI Plus plan, which normally costs 1,400 rupees per month.
Here is the step-by-step process to apply for the free Gemini subscription:
1. Visit the official link: https://one.google.com/ai-student
2. Select the Google AI Plus plan for one year free. The regular subscription fee is 1,400 rupees per month.
3. Google will redirect applicants to a new page to verify student status.
4. On that page, enter personal details including name, father’s name, country, educational institution, date of birth and email address.
5. Click on “Verify My Student Status”.
6. Upload the required documents as proof.
7. Student ID card
8. Academic schedule or timetable
9. Tuition fee receipt
Note: Files must be in .jpg, .jpeg, .png or .pdf format.
After reviewing all documents, Google will grant students free access to Gemini for one year without any charges.
The announcement comes a day after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated Google’s new office in Islamabad. A 9-member Google delegation led by Google Vice President Wilson White also met with the Prime Minister during the visit.
Officials say the initiative aims to give Pakistani students access to AI tools for learning, research and productivity.
