KARACHI, August 21, 2026: Police have arrested a woman identified as Nadia, the alleged main suspect in the case involving the death of citizen Sajid Khan, who was reportedly set on fire in Karachi’s Mauripur area, ARY News reported.
According to SSP Investigation Masroor Ahmed Jatoi, the incident took place following a dispute between the victim and the suspects. Preliminary investigation revealed that Nadia, who was allegedly a friend of the deceased, was involved in the incident along with her accomplices.
Police said that the suspects allegedly doused Sajid Khan with petrol and set him on fire. He sustained severe burn injuries and was shifted for medical treatment. However, Sajid later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Following his death, a case was registered at Mauripur Police Station in connection with the incident.
SSP Investigation Masroor Ahmed Jatoi said that police arrested Nadia from the Kalakot area during a targeted operation. She has been taken into custody for questioning as investigators seek to determine her exact role in the incident and identify the involvement of other suspects.
According to the initial investigation, Nadia had a friendship with Sajid Khan, while the alleged attack was reportedly carried out after a dispute. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and the motive behind the attack.
Authorities said that interrogation of the arrested suspect is underway, while raids are being conducted at different locations to apprehend the other suspects who remain at large.
Police officials said further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
